Micro-Cap Stocks — Analysis & Key Financial Data
Micro-Cap Stocks group companies based on shared financial characteristics — for example by market-cap bucket, dividend yield, valuation, or composite Investment Score. Many investors use these attribute filters to quickly narrow a universe of stocks down to names that fit their own mandate or risk profile before doing deeper research. On this page you can review stocks that currently qualify for the micro-cap stocks bucket using transparent, rules-based criteria. The goal is to surface a starting universe for further analysis rather than to provide buy or sell recommendations, so you can combine these tags with your own process and the Valuation Tool.

About micro-cap stocks
Micro-cap is the smallest size band the screener surfaces. The US$50 million to US$300 million band sits below small-cap and above the cut-off where stocks typically lack the liquidity or disclosure depth to support fundamental analysis. The cohort is heterogeneous: established small businesses with predictable cash flow, recovering names that fell from larger size bands, niche industry leaders, and pre-profitability operators.
Two practical realities shape this list. The first is liquidity — micro-caps have wider bid–ask spreads and lower trading volumes than larger size bands, which affects implementation costs more than valuation directly. The second is data coverage — fewer analysts follow micro-caps and disclosure schedules can be lighter, so the Investment Score and base valuation may be null or partial for some names. The screener surfaces "—" rather than estimating where data is missing.
What this page is for
This page is a screener and reference surface, not editorial coverage. The list above refreshes with each data update; the methodology, FAQ, and related categories below stay in place so the page is useful both for somebody arriving from a specific search and for somebody scanning the segment for the first time.
If you want to value a single micro-cap stock end-to-end rather than scan the segment, the Invest Viable Valuator walks through the same models we use to compute the base valuations on this page.
How we screen Micro-Cap Stocks
A stock is included on this page when its market capitalisation is at least US$50 million and below US$300 million. The screen is mechanical — no industry, profitability, or balance-sheet filter beyond the size band.
$50,000,000 <= marketCap < $300,000,000
- The band matches the US convention used by major data providers. Stocks below US$50M typically have insufficient liquidity for institutional activity and are excluded from the covered universe.
- Many micro-caps have limited analyst coverage and report on simplified disclosure schedules, so financial data depth varies more across this cohort than in larger size bands.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a micro-cap stock on Invest Viable?
Any covered US-listed company with a market capitalisation between US$50 million and US$300 million. The band matches the standard US convention.
How is micro-cap different from penny stocks?
Penny stocks are defined by share price (under US$5) regardless of market cap. Micro-caps are defined by market cap (US$50M–US$300M) regardless of share price. There's overlap — many penny stocks are also micro-caps — but the two screens answer different questions and have separate pages.
Why is micro-cap data sometimes incomplete on this page?
Smaller companies can report fewer line items, have shorter financial histories, or skip filings that mid-caps and large-caps must produce. Where our default models lack inputs to compute a metric, the page shows "—" rather than estimating. The Investment Score may also be null when financial coverage is too thin to compute reliably.
Are micro-cap stocks always speculative?
Not always — some are mature small businesses with steady cash flow and modest analyst coverage, while others are early-stage and pre-profitability. The Investment Score weighs profitability and balance-sheet quality so a cash-generative micro-cap and a pre-revenue one are scored differently.
Does Invest Viable recommend specific micro-cap stocks?
No. This page is a screener and analysis surface, not a recommendation list. Each stock is shown with its underlying financial data, base valuation, and Investment Score so you can do your own research. Invest Viable does not publish buy or sell calls on individual securities.
